These are fairly well known "extremes" taken in isolation. If you edit to what looks right, other people will see it more or less the same way you do. It's also the reason that most experts recommend editing in a room with consistent lighting and one that is painted in neutral colours, just so your eyes don't get fooled by some of these visual processing risks.
