You mean the traditional 10:10 maybe?
Most of the time, this classic layout is "forced" by the makers who will set at
the top centre their logo or name which are well framed by a 10:10 layout or,
like here, the complex face of the watch is too crowded to consider any alter-
native.
The ideal scenario for this shot should have been 10:10 but my son remembered,
from my explanation, the wide "V" shape and did the opposite: 13:49.

Yes I did. Thank you.

For clarity and expressed as a better compiled senetence, the original question that I had in my head was:
"If the hands were set purposefully, why are the minute and the second hands reversed from the more traditional postion (10:10)."
And, thank you, as you've answered that.

Again, I guess you mean the hour and minute hands?

Did he view the image on a monitor and then focus and trip the camera via the video. At least on a Canon, that is the easiest way to shoot focus stacked images; especially large numbers of images...
Great image and good looking son. We won't tell his mom that you refused to admit she was beautiful:eek:
BTW: I learn something new every day! I didn't realize that there was a standard setting for the hands of a watch in a photograph. However, I can see the rational regarding balance. Now the big question: How do you balance a watch with a digital readout:confused:.

My workflow is a tethered camera and all execution parameter are Mac
software controlled: focus, exposition, exposition mode, etc but every-
thing is on "Manual" except AF (remotely operated by the MAC).
