    People and More Pets

Never one to be left out our male Schnitzel (mini Schnauzer), Yoda (foreground), had to get in on the action and give his cousin a hug!

    Relevant info-

This was Granny’s (wifey-poo’s) fave because it has her granddaughter and her puppies in it!

    Really Relevant info-

If I know what’s good for me I had better make sure Granny (wifey-poo) gets this shot, and in the crop aspect she wants, and she likes it in color, and gets a print.

All that needed to be said was “yes dear”!

Thought I better put it up here to see what I screwed up before it goes to print because for once, I know what’s good for me!

Nicely done. I can see some highlights from the blanket on the floor, don't know if that concerns you or not.

Wonderful photo! I can understand why your wife likes it so much. Unlike the other one in black-and-white, the detail in the floor shows up very nicely here.

Terry...no nits in this shot for me...your granddaughter really have a good relationship with the doggies here. Schnitzel, my foot! It sounds like fried chops... Good shot. Very beautiful girl...

    Thank you so much Izz!

Cool thing about frying chops is that everyone gets a drumstick!

    Very nice and attractive lighting.

A shop on the coast here sells a variety of sailing caps some with Captain, First Mate, Sailor, Crew etc across the front but the one I like the most has "Yes dear" on it. I thought it was specifically for me but it may suit you as well....

Terry, I think you should stick with color on these portraits!

    Thanks guys!

L.Paul I think I'll just stencil "Yes Dear" on my forehead! Should save me a lot of time!

You know that is not what I meant, Terry! I think your conversions are really well-done!

What I meant is that I really like the color version a lot more. Oftentimes we convert an image to B&W because the image has distracting elements such as conflicting colors which draw our attention away from the subject. However, I certainly do not see that happening with this image. The color work very well here and give is a bit more depth.

    Re: People and More Pets

    Thank you Marie.

Well if they suck they suck Daniel! I figured I better at least ask! And if so I’d rather hear it from a Friend (hopefully) than someone else!

A good point about the reasoning behind converting. I guess many of us may be guilty of that at one time or another.

The girls wanted the conversions and I’m a huge fan of B&W portraiture myself. With my conversions I always process to finish the color version before converting and go from there. This pretty much regardless of what it is.

I appreciate your comments Daniel. It is my thinking that in order for me to have a successful conversion (especially for portraiture) I first need to have a successful color shot.

It helps to have another eye having a look Daniel.
