    Graceful Smile

Been super busy working on non-photography related stuff and finally had the time today to go back and finish processing some pictures I took almost three weeks ago!

I took this shot during my first couple photoshoot. The fiancé had just gotten up to go and grab some props he had set down by the grass and I managed to snap this very natural smile of the fiancée when she looked back over at me.

    C&C welcomed!

Edit is OK… always want to learn!

    Re: Graceful Smile

    Graceful indeed!
I think the shot is a tad too bright… the dress is loosing in the high lights and,
since it is summer, one may expect slightly darker skin tones. Cool take!

Nice, a bit too sharp in detail on the subject. Did you apply a blur to the background?

Very nice, Daniel...I like her pose too instantaneous as it was...

I like the shot Daniel I agree with Kodiak about the brightness, I would try reducing the highlights.

Nicely composed and greatly captured on her smile. I would have preferred it to be less bright - a just a tad bit as I want that glow on the image. Maybe a bit of separation between her white dress and the light colored boardwalk? Overall, well done.

    Daniel you nailed this.

If she can smile with her eyes every time like she is here then hire her!

What if you went for a bit of a crop?

To put her hanging foot more toward the bottom right corner of the frame, lose some of the BG, and bring her closer to us so we can enjoy her beautiful smile even more?

Thanks Daniel, Binnur, and Rob for pointing out the overexposed dress.

I removed all the highlights, took out a bit of whites, and reduced the clarity a tad on this version.

What do you guys think of this one?

Beautiful! … very lively and more like it!
Now, one last thing: your shot is giving to the right a tad… check the vertical!

John, this was pretty much SOOC. I was standing at least 10 meters away from her and shot at f/2.8. It's hard to tell here but the focus is actually on the plank of wood right next to her so she is a little out of focus

I quite like the crop! Thanks for the suggestion, Terry!

I tried to fix the vertical on the cropped version. I think it's OK now?

really nice, the evolution of it is very interesting and educational, well done to capture a rare natural moment so very well. a lovely shot that I think they will both treasure in the future as it will trigger such good memories.
