Milky Way over Chennai.
It was a clear night and lots of stars were visible, still it was bang in the middle of a highly light polluted city with terraces covered with tubelights. Anyway, seeing the star Antares and trying to focus with a 17mm Lens wasn't easy but I managed to snap this at 15 secs each x 5, ISO 1600. IT IS EASY to see the Milky Way with the help of your camera.

Nicely done especially considering the challenges of urban light.

Re: Milky Way over Chennai.
Thank you. At 17mm it is extremely difficult to focus on any bright star, wish I had a mask of some kind and wish there were more clear nights like this one.

Haseeb, nicely done! You have displayed why we should never give up, despite the conditions we photograph from!

Re: Milky Way over Chennai.
Thanks Carol. This one was taken during the same night but at 40mm and only one single exposure of 15 secs which almost gives the colouration of the molecular cloud formation in Rho Opiucchi. For a more complex and detailed image of this field, a good hour or two of integration time is required. I like the result though. Funny how at times even a 15 sec shot can raise up a startling image of our galaxy while many a times, hours of exposures yield nothing new.
