These photos remind me of how glad I am to be among those at the top of the food chain. At least that's the delusion that I'm happy to perpetuate.
I'm with you Mike, but that's nature for you
Nice capture for you both.
David...lovely shots. I was looking for the story and I found one from #2 and #3. In #2 it looks at you and says "Hey this one is mine!" And then #3 shot he proceeded to eat its prey. From the rest of the shots, it looks like it has got a firm grip of the wasps.
(I like that word "wasp"...back in '52 I was living in California and we were about to go boating at San Diego bay. We have this old friend who owned the boat btw who taught me how to say that word so I will never forget how to pronounce that word...put a smile on my mug everytime for the experience...)
Very nice series David
Very good but gory photography. Nice work but I can't but echo Mikes sentiment.
Plenty of good detail there, David.
That wasp looks more like one of the Digger Wasps (Sphecidae) or Mason Wasps (Eumeniidae) than a Common Wasp species (Vespidae).
Yes, this series definitely tells a story. Not bad for one handed shots. I especially like Number 2. The "lunch date" looks like he has little yellow boots on.
Beautifully done
Cheers John, I like the pun
Thanks Izzie, I love the way you can find stories in images You don't happen to tell fortunes as well do you?
I learned how to say it the hard way when one of the little sh**s stung me!
Thank you Binnur
Cheers John, I totally agree mate
Thanks Kodiak, much appreciated!
Cheers Geoff, I'm amazed at the amount of different wasps there are, thanks for the I.D.
David
