Help With Autofocus Failure
I have a friend with a Canon 5D MK II who tells me the autofocus (AF) quit working...the camera keeps trying to focus without achieving focus. He is forced to use it on MF. Any suggestions as to what is going wrong or is this a repair issue?

Re: Help With Autofocus Failure
Gonna need some more information than that. Is it doing it with all his lenses, or one particular lens. Is he within the minimum focus distance? Is he trying to focus in low light? What lens is he using? How is he autofocusing? What autofocusing mode is he using? Which points? etc. etc. etc.

Re: Help With Autofocus Failure
check also whether it is happening with a lens that has a focus limiter, and if so, whether the limiter switch is in the right position.

Adding a slight addition, is AF enabled on both the camera and lens.

Re: Help With Autofocus Failure
Thank you all for your input. I've finally reached my friend and he informs me the AF is working now. If the problem resumes I will be sure to post with answers to questions you have asked.
