Love the shot Peter! The only thing I would change is that I would get rid of the (www.peterphun.com/blog)...it's distracting.
Thank you Shawn. I think it would be foolhardy if you don't watermark your images when you post them online. Many 'photographers' think nothing about using your images as their own. Even the 'famous' once get caught doing so. But that's a discussion for another place. Thanks again.
Thank you Daniel for commenting. Had to dig around at bit before I found your first name. Didn't want to address you by Kodiak.
Do consider updating your profile to show at least your first name. When you make yourself and your background accessible, folks reading your comments about their work tend to get a better sense of your skill level when they can see your work.
Nice, I think the lighting on the veils overshadow your models beauty, she needs just a bit more light on her face or either place her in total silhouette.
Thanks John "Shadowman."
Hi Pete, lovely shot. a little more light on the face would be nice, and the background finishes before the edge of the shot, either crop it or clone it over, but its really good well done. watertmark??? well i can clone that out in seconds.
When I see photos of women wearing scarfs on websites selling the scarfs, they always seem so antiseptic, lacking in flare. What is a scarf for if not to add flare, elegance and the like? This photo is made in a style that really sells the scarf. Well done!
I like the image I find the watermark distracting .
Hello Mike,
I appreciate very much your kindness in composing those thoughts. It means a lot. It's not the contest wins or awards that spur some of us but acts of kindness from complete strangers like you.
My apologies Mark Von Kanel, Binnur and others who find the watermark distracting. Unfortunately many people think nothing about using another person's work without attribution or worse as their own. Rest assured the image looks even better printed large without the watermark.
Since I don't want to 'kick the proverbial hornet's nest' on the pros and cons of watermarking, I'll post another version if you guys don't mind. Below is the version I printed for myself, complete with watermark.
You might consider making six more images. You could call the collection "Dance of the Seven Veils," which is also the name of a famous selection of music and scene from an opera by Richard Strauss.
Just kidding, actually.
Peter; a very originial composition, and I like it a lot. I always find images like these, that feature a person who plays a major role in the image, without being the main subject quite interesting. Your choice of colours for the background to complement the veil really make this image stand out to me. That wash of yellow, just draws my eyes to the image.
I've never done a shot like this myself. This is probably because I've never had the confidence to try something like this. I've got to try it one day... I think I'll wait for cooler weather though.

Second watermark doesn't look distracting Peter
