    Kid On A Cliff

This Mt. Goat kid, only a few months old was quite comfortable on steep rocks. I could see its big feet gripping the rock as bounced around playfully.

Scenes like that are always heart stopping when viewed in wildlife programs. I'm sure there are fatalities now and then. Nicely captured.

it's amazing how a hoofed animal can climb on the rocks that way. They have special hooves of some sort, don't they?

You say you're new to photography? I just had a look at your website. I surely wouldn't say you're new to finding the subjects!

Thank you for the comments. I had fun taking this photo and I just wanted to share.

Mt. Goat hooves are quite large for the size of the animal, and they stick to the rocks. These animals are amazing to watch moving on steep cliffs.

Izzie, the winters are cold and long, but the summers are cool with low humidity. Today the high was 59 F and the trees are starting to change to their fall colors.

Well captured, I like the way that the kids hairs on its back is so visible against the dark rock.

Exactly...I love Wyoming (very much...) but I am a warm blooded person and do not like long cold winters, so a once a year visit is all I can make. We always stay a week or two in Sheridan and surrounds just like as if I have not seen the place at all. It makes it all interesting that way...

Today the high was 59 F and the trees are starting to change to their fall colors.
We have been having a few 100°F lately and right now at nearly 4am, all my windows outside is steamy...maybe about 80°F or more. 'Must be 100°F humidity out there in my deck...

Thanks for the info and for sharing...

Fall colors already? On the cottonwoods? Poplars are the among the last to turn here. Not till later, in Oct. to Nov. do they. The red maples are showing the most colors here so far. They turn early.

    My sympathy to you.

We had an 85 f. day recently, that was a steamy one compared to most of the summer.

Izzie, If I had temperatures like that I would think I had died and gone to the place where a fellow told me to go just a week ago. :-) Next time you are in Wyoming come on over to Teton County. We have some things to photograph.

You need not feel sorry for us. This is a wonderful time of year. I hope you enjoy the colors as well when they arrive in your neck of the woods.

Chuck I am an Asian person so I do not mind steamy temperature, but I do not go out unless I am dragged out in that kind of temperature at 105°F. So a few more days of over 90° outside...

Thanks for the offer. I might take you up on that one day...done with our annual trek this year to Wyoming...we only do little trips now until winter...
