Thanks Susan. I thought about rotating to place the eye in normal position but knew it would throw off the balance of the metal gate.

Dan thanks for the comments, I was photographing a dance competition, looked down behind me from my perch and this just happened to catch my eye (no pun intended).

I love the composition John...and the first thing I saw were the shadows, how good it looks and the way it gets in the way of the eye shot...I noticed though that the scratch on the eye itself continues on to the railing scratches...good catch!

The eye? I would too. The pic nah, too good to discard. The appearance of the horrible looking eye getting poked is too good to pass by.
