    Pronghorn Family

Pronghorn Family, Grand Teton National Park

This doe pronghorn, and her two fawns, are on alert for danger. The fawns were born early in the summer and will be big enough to migrate to the high sagebrush region southeast of Jackson Hole at the beginning of November.

Quite a handsome family. The manes on the little ones are cute. Thanks for sharing.

That's a fine photo. An attractive bunch, as has been mentioned, and well captured. May I ask what were your settings for that shot?

I have heard about their long migration, are their particular places they go to or from?

Pronghorns always look as though they are moving, even when they are not. Amazing animals, and a fine shot.

Thank you for the comments. Nick, this particular herd summers in Grand Teton National Park and spendS the winter between Pinedale and Rock Springs Wyoming. They are believed to have the second longest migration of the terrestrial mammals in North America. Each spring I go to a nearby valley to watch them as the migrate to the summer range.

    My settings were: 1/160, F8, ISO 100, 110MM (80-400MM F4 - 5.6)
