Nice capture on the boats. The backlighting on the horse doesn't really help; especially when the sun is shining so brightly elsewhere. Not much you can do physically except change your position which is probably not an option with this scene. I would add some fill light on the horse in post-processing.

The size of the posted images makes it difficult to fully appreciate them. All three are nicely composed.

Hiya Matt.......I really like the boat shot. I agree with john, the sky on the horses is too bright. I looked at them on flickr and the swan one is very blurry with a lot of CA.

I was a bit p*ssed off that the Swans one came out blurry! But hey ho!

Hi Matt , I like the boat shot The images are too small, instead of giving links to Flickr I would be happy to see them uploaded to CinC in bigger sizes I agree with other members about the brightness in horse shot.

I too wanted to see the images a bit bigger so I popped over to Flickr. The boat shots is beautiful Matt - I love the peacefulness of the scene which I believe was enhanced by the time of day and your post processing.

Did you do anything in particular in post to render the colors and tones as we see them?

Hi Shane,

Thanks for the comments, I did some post processing in Lightroom. I am new to the software and still getting used to it but for the boat image I adjusted the Temp, Tint and Vibrance a little.

You did well Matt! I'm not sure if you know this, but if you use tinypic your images will be a bit larger here and you will likely get more comments and useful tips on all sorts of things from composition to post processing.

Have fun exploring all of the sliders in Lightroom It can be a bit overwhelming at first...
