Be Prepared
This is above a door at the Romanesque 1928 Central Christian Church in Austin, TX. I'm still puzzled by it, but intend to winkle out the meaning. Meantime, here it is:

It is the motto of the Boy Scout Movement and that looks like their logo above it.
Not sure why it should be there though. Probably some local link from the past.

The motifs at either side certainly look to be be Boy Scouts as well.

Thanks. I assume that a scout troop must have met at the church. This was the third or fourth church built on this site, so there must have been a long-time connection with the scouts for the carvings to be incorporated into the new building in 1928.
