Great shot - staircases can lead to wonderful shots, as you demonstrate here.

My wife still gets embarrased when I lie down to take shots like these as she mutters "I don't know him" to any passers by that see me.

Nice perspective Mike. Upon viewing I was struck with a sense of music. The ornamentation on the railings resemble the Clef symbol, the stairs the keys of a piano and the circular motion the way a musical piece builds towards a crescendo, the cross bars...

At first I wanted to see more of the complete circle formed by the staircase but upon further contemplation I think that this is something that we 'know' is there and including it in the frame might actually take away some of the great tension created by the crop that you have chosen to show us.
