    Late for lunch

Borough Market is a fantastic location for street photography. Early doors it's mainly tourist footfall but towards midday the locals come out in force to pick up a quick bite to eat. I wanted to emphasise the speed of the locals on a mission and knowing exactly where they were going for lunch versus the more leisurely meanderings of the tourists with a slow shutter (1/13th handheld)

Superb, Phil. Street photography at its best. Brilliantly conceived and executed. The perfect example of developing an idea, considering how to implement it and doing so.

In similar vein, I'm going to be at a location at about 5am next Tuesday morning just as the full moon get ready to set out in the Atlantic Ocean behind a lighthouse in the north-west of Scotland. It's going to involve walking along cliffs in the dark to get into location (So, if you never hear from me again ..........!).

I know exactly what the finished image should look like. The weather will be the primary deciding factor in whether I get the photo or not. I've been there a few years ago and I've already staked it all out on the Photographer's Ephemeris and Google Earth. But my point is - Having the vision and doing a bit of planning is what it's all about.

+1 to Donald's plan too though I find some words a little bit hard to read... Stalking it out with The Photographer's Ephemeris is a good idea, Donald...just don't forget to have fun while you are there...

    Really an excellent shot, Phil...

I agree with Donald's comments. Well conceived, planned, and executed. The composition is excellent to set the stage and the shutter speed was just right to make the point of the hurrying lunch crowd. Nicely done.
