Quiet smoke
This is my 2nd favourite shot of my last walkabout in London. If anything it's closest to what I use to shoot in Dubai with a lone subject in a bigger scene in a quiet location - just transposed into a scene in Borough Market.
There were days when I'd be concerned about cutting the transit van on the edge of the frame, but I'm past caring now and think it adds to the composition. I may try to clone out the van in the distance where the lines and light are leading to but don't know if a) I can do it well enough or b) it will help

Re: Quiet smoke
Or you could have waited until the van disappeared before you took the shot. Either way, this van will surely add to the conversation about composition. I like it any which way, Phil...the demographics will surely change as opinions pour in.

Re: Quiet smoke
Nicely done, I didn't spot the second van until you mentioned it.

Re: Quiet smoke
Another nice one, Phil. You succeeded in recreating the feel of some of you shots from Dubai. The blank wall behind the bloke and the busier scene in the right side of the frame really tells the story of a guy trying to take a moment. Really nicely done.
