Cleverly done Mike .....so, is tonight the night to open it.....!!
I like it Mike May I ask what the texture is at the upper right of the frame ?
hi mike Cleverly done and nice
Mike this is a nice shot. Very well done technically.
And I would never presume to suggest to you how to handle your vision.
So that is exactly what I am going to do!
I’m not sure the work gloves um, well, work.
Why couldn’t we see yours and your lovely wife’s hands held together (maybe a nice view of a wedding ring) or something that signifies what you two have together and that you two like to splurge every 6 months or so together. Something that would make it a little more personal for the two of you? I know you could do it and make it awesome.
Whew! Okay! So now that I have presumed to do what I have said I would never presume to do I will sit back and wait for the onslaught!
Fire away!
We've all seen bride and groom hand pictures...might be nice to see the same for an anniversary.
Thanks, folks!
Binnur: One piece of fabric serves as the tabletop and background. I lit the right side of the background a little more than the left to add some depth and texture in that area.
I can appreciate Terry's post but not L. Paul's. The least L. Paul could do is pretend not to be so lazy by relying upon Terry.
Including my wife's hand is not possible because doing so would require her to participate in the process and that requirement isn't in our prenuptial agreement.
Though I have another concept in mind that involves two hands, I haven't gotten far enough along with it to know whether it will get beyond the concept stage.
Having said that, I wonder if my concept isn't quite as deep as what Terry and L. Paul would prefer. I simply wanted the image to do nothing more than make a connection between the gloves and the name of the wine. Clearly, that happened.

I think the colours work well in this shot, Mike.
Regarding the composition: I am not as romantic as Terry and Paul. I would have had just one hand in the frame - preferably, a gnarly one at that.

I live in South Australia and know the Barossa Valley well, however I reside amongst the vines of Maclaren Vale home of the gutsy reds, I suggest you try some . Your good health!
Cheers Colin.
I have enjoyed many Maclaren Vale wines, Colin, as well as Margaret River wines. There are one heck of a lot of good Aussie winemakers.
Do I detect a trend. First Penfolds Grange and now Two Hands.
This might prove expensive for me, trying to keep up the standard (of wine I meant).
Nothing particularly deep, Mike - it is Sunday morning here. For me, two hands repeats the words on the label; but one hand would lead the viewer - me, at least - to conjecture about the other hand.
BTW: some time ago when talking to my wine advisor, I remarked about some of the odd names of some wines these days - the one that prompted my remark is "Gnarly Dudes", which I found hard to consider seriously. But he told me that this a trend among the younger winemakers these days.
Mike, your candle light/bottle (another thread) is a beautiful shot.
You shared a beautiful personal story of you and your wife and the celebration of Life’s very best moments. The Shot was a very cool representation of what is to come. I hope I’m still kicking in ‘18 to wish Wifey-poo a Happy!
I’m not a big wine kind of guy but I sure get what the special moments mean. They can be, and are, fleeting and that is why we appreciate them all the more.
I think she could re-negotiate her pre-nup, take your cheap a** to the bank, and pull off the shot!
I just thought that something that special between the two of you would be nice.
I made a photo using Greg's concept of including just one hand that can be seen here.
