Haha she does not look happy, nice shot though!
Thanks, John for indulging me with the B&W version. What I like about the black and white is the focus is on the details - and the facial expressions of both individuals.

Nice and colorful shot John
John, in this particular instance I much prefer the color version as the vibrant colors and huge smile are nicely contrasted by the black outfit and somber glare. Maybe someone else can chime in but, given the 'look' and placement of her left hand my first thought might be...when do we get a restroom break?
Wow, what a contrast. For me the B/W version draws my eye immediately to the faces without distractions. The two expressions side by side makes each seem even more animated. OK, so between the two, who get's the vote for Miss Congeniallity?
Seems to me that the "Glare" is more to do with being upstaged rather than the presence of your camera - a fact that to me, comes out more in the colour version. However, as images I do like both.
Along with Marie's B/W request and the resulting comments, maybe you can incorporate both and keep the colourful woman colourful and dark woman in B/W...wonder how that will turn out???
Really good capture John. The mono works so well for me, which is surprising given the great colours in the first version. You seem to have brought the shadows up in the mono version and I think this helps as you get a better view of the "scowler". You might consider cropping a bit off the top to get rid of the umbrella part in the mono version.

You have a knack for timing, John...I bet you were fiddling with you camera when you accidentally push the shutter button, eh? I like the pouty face...I wonder what is making the other woman sad...
