One Hand, Not Two -- thanks to Greg (FootLoose)

Hi Mike Because you started adding some other elements to your bottle shots like gloves,grapes and hands, the compositions seem richer to me. IMO the image would look nicer with more space on the left with lovely light and texture on the cloth and without the wrist. Even with this image , if you crop the wrist and make nearly a square crop , it might work fine. My comments might be less worthy because I'm not used to viewing such shots , so just my humble opinion

My reasoning about the compositional elements:

• The wrist acts as a leading line to the hand, so I wouldn't want to eliminate the wrist in a crop.
• The amount of space is minimized on the left to allow the hand to be showcased more than if more space would have been allowed on the left.

As we discussed in a previous thread, design is not my strength. Though I like the design of this particular scene, I don't have any delusions about suddenly having become a guru of design.

In addition to my comments above, IMO one hand looks better than two, and a real hand looks better than big gloves in your other thread

Nice shot, Mike. I was wondering how you would place the hand in the hand - if you did it - and this looks good to me. You have a the line leading in from the wrist and then opening up to a very strong V-shape grasping the bottle. The hand is an integral part of the composition, but the subdued lighting on it still focuses attention on the label.

Thanks, Greg. The hand is mine and I spent considerable time trying various compositions of my hand as it relates to everything in the label, including the word, "hands." I released the shutter using a remote control operated by my other hand.

Thanks for the further explanation about the leading line in the image Greg Because I usually watch landscape/ sunrise/ sunset shots I had difficulty understanding it.
