European Education Initiative • Project 1/14

This year, they want to have a series of posters and magazine adds to
promote specific social aspects considered important in a modern society.

The complete job comprises 14 posters/adds on different themes that were
adopted by a working comity of european education lobbies.

I was asked to present one proposal/prototype that I may choose from
the 14 adopted themes. I have still some time before the presentation so
I thought to post the actual state of an idea.

Olivier likes the project… "let me cook up something" he said. We will see.

Modern society... Shouldn't the figure be holding an iPad? Or at least a smart phone?

Judging by my views on current events, I'm completely out of touch with what's important to modern society in the USA much less in Europe So all I'm able to add to the discussion is my poor attempts at levity

Well Dan, you're right… and that's where a part of the problem is, according to
    the comity.

    I like it Kodiak.

If I had of arranged these three items I would have never considered joining the hourglass and perforated plate, but then again it would not have worked as this does.

    Thanks Grahame,
this is a study on how to address the series and shoot all posters with
common elements arranged in different ways. This "joining" of the two
elements is "wanted/not wanted" consequence of remembering quite late
in the shoot that some room must be free for the title and small text…
I just slid the hourglass a tad to the right so to free up some space. This
is an idea, it will mature, maybe thrown away or developed further.

Study number 2/14, Integration (posted yesterday), shows an other setup.

I already stated my reason -- because I am learning. It is dangerous to me ... my brain starts working... Daniel, it was a tongue-in-cheeks comment...

"Pondering" comes to mind, as in pondering the future and asking yourself, what does it hold for me?

The image reminds me of an animated version of Ronin's "Thinker" and Lear's questioning Yorick's skull,
with the water droplet replacing the skull...add to that, the eternal sands of time passing through the
hourglass. Of course, perhaps, I am over analyzing and completely FOS.

Regardless, I like it for it's intended purpose.

    Do you mean Rodin's thinker?

No so far off Chauncey, to illustrate time I use this prop as it is unidentified,
has no colour etc… as to give the idea that the time in your hands may be for
    anything or given to anyone!

William has already provided you one that would hurt my brain to come up with...

Good one, Chauncey -- I salute thee!
