Fun with layers.
Learning layers in Photoshop and I like it. The boat of Orion. Need to fine tune a lot though.
The Orion nebula image was taken through a 200mm Canon L lens with over half an hour worth of integration time at 30 secs each per sub. The boat image was taken during daytime.

Interesting concept but I feel it's a little incomplete and disjointed, somehow it doesn't all fit together yet, but keep at it and I'm sure as you learn something great will come of this.

Yup, need to learn to merge with suitable images. Right now just practicing / learning.

Interesting idea - wish I had skies that dark round here.
You could simply knock the exposure of the boat scene down so that colours are just about visible.

Re: Fun with layers.
Haseeb -- nice concept but the boat image is clearly during the daytime because of the shadow and the colour of the beach...maybe you can darken that area a bit and make it a nighttime shot instead by blending it a little bit more...like layering the top of the boat scene with gradient so the colours will not be too harsh...just a thought...

Re: Fun with layers.
Hi John and Izzie, I will give that a go tonight.
Here's the other version.
