Re: Pont de diablo
This is such a nice series that demonstrates so effectively the concept of working a scene.

Re: Pont de diablo
Thanks Mike, I really enjoyed myself yesterday afternoon wading about in the river, finding different shots and angles. Then suddenly the wind would drop and the water turned into a mirror so I clambered about trying to find a position that would include all 3 bridges and their reflections, much to the delight of anyone who happened to look over the edge of the bridge as the crossed. That was another deciding factor in using a long exposure-the people all disappeared !
I could go on as there are a couple more angles but I think everyone has seen enough of my bridges !!

Re: Pont de diablo
You've got a great location to shoot there, Mat. Amazing how different each shot is in different conditions. And I definitely see the eyes and mouth that you suggested. In the first image I agree with others in that the foreground rocks are a bit overwhelming. However, had they been placed off-center it may have worked better. The composition in all of the shots with the three bridges visible is really interesting. Nicely done.

Re: Pont de diablo
All great shots and like Mike really appreciate seeing the same location in so many ways. And well done on the getting wet - waist deep that's a risk to your camera !!

Re: Pont de diablo
Mat...another version I like this one too...looks like you didn't to use those purported rain boots to get this one, eh? (Yeah...yeah...I asked my stepson what they call Wellingtons here in the US after describing to him what they are used for...)

Re: Pont de diablo
I like the composition in post #13 best and I like the faster shutter speed as well. Just my $0.02.
