Rob, UFO?
My guess: CD or DVD, underwater, shot with polarising filter as ripples from a drip subside.
How close am I?
Aahh! That's one of them new roPad things. It sucks lots of energy out of the environment and is of no use to mankind whatsoever. As you can see, you place it just above a person's head, it spins furiously and turns brains into mush.

One of those spinning tops with lights ... the ones the kids (us!) use
This is what appears for one picsecond just as the water disappears into the drain. I have no idea how Rob got that fast a shutter speed.
Cheers,
Rick
Correct, my good fellow. I used two studio lights fired laterally across the disc. On the lens I had a polarizing filter to try and get more colours. Boosted the colours in CS4, then applied a Ripple filter to it. Happy days. At least it has stopped raining now! Tomorrow the mountains! Hiking! The Great Outdoors! Watch this space.
