Re: Sandhill Cranes
Sandhills are magnificent, whether on the ground or in flight. And you've captured the ambience perfectly with the out-of-focus mountainous terrain for a background.

Re: Sandhill Cranes
Wow. That's excellent. Not yet had such success with shooting them in flight, or any bird, actually. Do you have any tips for catching birds in flight like that? Mostly I find it hard to keep them in the frame when you zoom in close enough that they are big enough.

Re: Sandhill Cranes
Thanks Bill, Paul, and Nick. In this case there were more cranes than could fit in the frame. I find it tough to stay with one BIF too much less a dozen or more. I am not a great birder but I do believe in practice, practice, practice. Better not to zoom in too close to leave some room for composition. The bigger problem is the temptation to get the one too far away. And the further away they are the more one needs a good solid tripod. Just my $0.02.

Re: Sandhill Cranes
Thanks for your $0.02, Perhaps I should indeed keep up practice, and try to be practical.
