Shot this as an inservice photo for my staff in my restaurant kitchen with my little point and shoot canon. Lots of grain, noise, whatever. I like it.

A nicely composed shot; the noise is certainly an aspect of this image, but given the light background, it really doesn't hurt the shot. I like the way you used the knive to divide the image into two parts; with the banana in the top, right part balanced by some negative space in the bottom left.

It works; what more can one say?

Is there a reason other than an artistic reason that you paired this particular knife with this particular fruit, such as a cultural relationship between the two subjects or something practical that you wanted your staff to associate with the image?

Hey Mike. I was showing my staff different knives and kitchen utensils and identifying them by name. I used the banana simply for scale, so they could relate to the size of the utensil. There was no artistic motive for this photo but I liked the final image.
