Come into my parlor......
"Come into my parlor, said the spider to the fly."
On my new images, such as this, I am working very hard at making better camera setting decisions before I even click the camera shutter. i shot this with my 70-200 f2.8 at f11. I also used my Canon closeup filter. One of the issues when using the closeup filter, even at narrower apertures, is having to compensate for the shallower DoF.
This image required very little processing. Please C&C.

Yes macro photography means working with shallow focus depth so you need to get the camera angle correct or merge a number of shots with different focus points.
That shot has worked well, the highlights are just below the over exposure point and the shadows are clear. One of the Araneus family of spiders by the look of it.

Re: Come into my parlor......
Good capture, Marie. Those close-up filters are tricky to use, so well done

Excellent shot, Rie...I like the back of the spider...I can see a face of a man with sparse hairs. It has to be a man to be ugly looking, eh? (Uh...oh...I am getting into trouble here...I better go back to bed...!!!)
