Exploring Monochromes
Today I spent some time exploring the development of monochromes.
Please C&C.

Re: Exploring Monochromes
Nice series, really like the crop and conversion on the first image. I like the composition of the second but the tones are a bit too close to each other to distinguish detail. Like the third but would consider cropping the bottom.

Re: Exploring Monochromes
Nice work Marie, I am with John on the first one. The third runs a close second.

Re: Exploring Monochromes
I too think that #1 and #3 are nice.
I often have a problem with B&W images of trees, and sometimes coloured ones as well, because they have an unattractive granular look.

I like the first shot, Marie. The sepia tone suits the subject well

Re: Exploring Monochromes
Thanks, guys.
Of the three, my personal picks were also 1, 3, 2, but I think that is based on the subject matter and composition?
I like the conversions of all 3 equally as well.

Re: Exploring Monochromes
I particularily like #1 and the only suggestion I would make would be that it may benefit by being made a bit 'grittier' by adding noise and some vignetting.

I like #1 too and +1 to John's comment. When I saw the first one, it reminds me of some of John's shots. 2 and 3 could have benefitted with a GND filter to bring out some skies to complete the scenario. Just a thought...
