Couple of (big) bird snaps

Couple of shots taken at a 'bird zoo'. There's a chap who keeps a wide variety of raptors, vultures and owls and regularly holds shows for an audience. When these birds aren't skimming the heads of an amazed audience they rest either in cages or tethered in pens. The whole experience is an education and a photo opportunity (not to mention a near death experience as the climb up to the location; a Cathar ruin; nearly saw me off last time I did it)
A really contrasty day with super bright sunlight, a little fill flash used on both shots to reveal the eye and prevent horrible burn out on the highlights with blocked shadows. Also the background was not that photogenic so the flash helped block that out too.

1. A face for radio
After the haul up to the chateau I was probably looking in a dire strait and I think this guy was looking at me as a potential lunch.
