The Brecon Beacons
Snapped this from the car on the way home from the waterfalls...Some of the mountains are a bit bright?

Re: The Brecon Beacons
Hi Matt I think the composition is a bit too crowded. IMO the sky is competing with the stones. May be it would look better with a more plain sky.

Re: The Brecon Beacons
For me, Matt, there is a rather sombre foreground which is nicely balanced by some menacing cloud in the top left corner, but the top right sky is so bright that it tends to 'swamp' the other items.
I would slightly tone down the highlights in the problem areas. Possibly lower the saturation there as well.
Potentially a good photo.

Re: The Brecon Beacons
Hope you don't mind but I thought I could show you faster than I could explain how I would do it.
Original.
Edit.
Slight crop then I opened up the shadows and dropped the highlights in Camera Raw, Used a soft light graduation to darken the sky a bit and gave the whole thing an edge burn.

Can't argue with that Wayland, that is much better.
Thanks

Hi Matt. I have just noticed the mistake in my comment above and corrected it. I was trying to say the sky was competing with the stones I like Wayland's edit
