    Re: Dawn Reflections

Following is my edit of the image.

I used a daylight WB to keep the blues of the early morning hours, increased the colour temperature a wee bit, and then used the colour balance tools to increase the saturation of the greens and blues. I also cloned out the moon.

At this moment I do like it, and I think I like it a bit more than the 1st version of the image in the series. I will have to revisit the image in a few days to decide for sure.

    The Edit

    Dawn Reflections

And another image from that morning that also had mixed lighting. I used the same strategy as above but I also increased the saturation of the yellows reflected on the trees. Added a gradient filter on the left side of the image to decrease the exposure and highlights, and another filter on the opposite side to increase the exposure and highlights.

    Dawn Reflections

When I visit again I will be trying some portrait orientations of the trees and their reflections, and just the reflections. Especially the one towards the right hand side.

Thank you to all! Truly appreciated.

What a view!!! I love how still the water was - like glass - allows you to achieve such beautiful reflections.

I really like the composition of #2. The mountain in the background adds interest.

Your latest version looks really nice. I like the triangular shapes made by the trees and lighting.

There ya go! Great job of deciding what you like and making it happen.

You've got a pretty natural look here, Christina. Such a peaceful image. I think I'd have had to just sit down for a spell.

Thank you Marie, Nick, Mike and Dan for your comments, advice and encouragement. Indeed it is a beautiful place that I have all to myself during the early morning hours.

A BIG thank you to everyone!
