Making the Best with Bad Weather - Part Two

The work was going rather well but the slopes were slippery with the drizzle!

    1. I must not forget the working hands_

Another nice series all round Kodiak. The third image is particularly good in telling the story.

    Hi Kodiak,

When picking, is it a case of snip and collect (at maximum speed), or are they also 'weeding out' any odd grapes that are over/under ripe? (to avoid spoiling the juice)

Query prompted by 2, 3 and 9 above.

    Thanks, Dave

    Dave,

a snipper and collector is fired on the spot. Your observation is correct.
The assistant is the most experienced harvester and is in charge to brief all
new comer on the topic of what goes in and not.

For the reasons you mentioned, it is very important to "harvest" the best pickers.

A worker explained me that the wetness on the grass of the slopes is at times
terrible, added to the high concentration to weed the bad stuff…

You mentioned bad weather. I really like the light in the first 11 of the other series and in many photos of this series. You took great advantage of it in my mind. So, I assume bad weather in this case means slippery slopes and the threat of oncoming rain. Am I right?

Nope! Bad weather in this case meant drizzle and no-key-very dull-yacky light!
… that justified the use of flash.
