Bird Photography First Attempt - Great Egret - C&C Welcome

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

It is my very first attempt for bird photography. I really like the black frame around the bird and it is a 80% crop as i could have used 200mm max focal length. With the post processing i did minimal adjustments as Bird was bright enough So i metered for the bird and surroundings became automatically dark.

I'm attaching 2 different crops. Please provide your views and suggestion with composition, crop and processing.

The bird capture is very good, especially for a first try. However, the shadows (vignetting?) distract from the photo for me. I would crop a little tighter to remove as much of the shadow as I could. Very nice, sharp photo of the egret.

It's No 1 for me and the natural dark framing really helps this image stand out and emphasise the light. A good composition.
