I have spent quite a few days recently at some of our wonderful National Trust sites. This is Baddesley Clinton in Warwickshire, an old moated house for which there has been a footprint for a 1000 years. This house is mainly 16th century with amendments over the years just as we do today. As ever it was the little details that caught my eye rather than the big picture. Here are a few, C&C welcome.
- The Moat - which never prevented unwelcome guests but was effective as a fire break as the house was originally built in a clearing in the wood
- The house used to have four sides, but one was knocked down to provide more light in the central courtyard
& 4 - some little details............
& 6 - moving inside some memories of the Victorian and early 20th century age
- Memories of those lost in the war..............
