In this thread, I posted the one colour image that I made from my week in the Assynt area of Scotland.
Although I'm pleased with that colour image, what I saw when I came over the crest of the hill and saw the scene were the lines and the shapes and the B & W image that I believed lay within.
Interested to read what you think. Many might suggest that it had to be a colour image. For me it was about the lines and the shapes and the fact that these could be better shown in B & W.
Suilven is a magnificent and iconic mountain. Like others alongside it, it can be seen from miles away from all sides.

This is a beautiful capture. Unlike you, I normally prefer colour, but of the two, this is better im(very and inexpert)o. I have visited Assynt once and loved it and it is on the agenda for a tour of Scotland we hope to make next year - this image just increases the desire to make sure we make it.

Re: Suilven
Both work for me, my preference normally learns towards color but for this particular image, the way it was captured, color or B & W have equal qualities.

Nice gradual grading of tones from dark bottom to light sky.

Re: Suilven
Another terrific one! It's rare when there are so many layers that I have to stop and count them to fully appreciate them. Exceptionally well done!

Gorgeous, Donald. I love the velvety texture of both images. I think the simplicity of this one may win out for me, but it is a hard call.

Now I do like that Donald. Yep - just scrolled up to have another peek at it and I have not changed my mind.

Re: Suilven
This is a nice image but I still prefer the colour version. But when there is doubt, I am usually biased toward colour.
