Fall Beginnings
Fall is in the air in Bracebridge, Ontario.
First image is taken just below and to the right of the hydro-dam originally built in 1902. The water wheel is a replica placed as a reminder of the Alexander Bailey Grist mill built in 1894.
Second image is taken just below the same area facing the Muskoka River. Comments are always welcome.

Re: Fall Beginnings
I prefer the first one between these two shots although each has its own merits. The first one is almost painterly. In the second image I like the natural flow of the water, nothing fancy there...Good effort, Tom...

It's No 1 for me as well Tom. I find the treatment of these quite delicate and appealing, have you applied some treatment to achieve this look?

Re: Fall Beginnings
First, I would like to thank everyone for their comments. Your perception of another persons work is key to the learning curve of photography. To answer your question about the look in No 1, I reduced the clarity of the image using Lightroom 5 to reduce the micro-contrast and give a softer look to the texture.
