Decorations inside the Duomo of Agrigento

Some pictures of the interiors of the Duomo of Agrigento (Sicily, Italy). The church is very old (the actual church was built in 1305, although later expanded and modified) and contains architectural elements of various ages. The decorations of the aps are in rococò style. In the moment the church is being restored.

Exif info of the pictures (lost during processing) can be found on the page http://www.milanofotografo.it/englis...0e%20monuments
Further pictures of the church on the page https://plus.google.com/b/1119309168...89348387508609

All pictures taken with a Fuji s100fs and are fusions of two pictures separated by 2 stops, fused using the algorythm on the page http://www.milanofotografo.it/englishFotografiaHDR.aspx and finally optimized using Faststone.

A lovely interior, Enrico. Does this church look very understated from the outside? I think I remember it being featured on a UK TV programme which put art and food together while travelling through Sicily a couple of years ago.

Very big church Enrico. I looked at the other photos of it. They are very nice , thanks for sharing I find the shot with shoes interesting. Does it have a story?

I must confess that I noticed the shoes only while editing the pictures! No idea what they mean!
Unfortunately the main entrance of the church is closed, because a part of the building was demaged by a landslide. You must enter from one side.
