    Just before if gets dark

I shot this on a pier at the harbour because I liked the angle which allowed me to frame the reflections, the lighthouse and the sea all together.I didn't fix the tilted buildings on the LHS because if I did I would lose some piece of land on RHS which is important for the composition IMO.

    C&C are appreciated as always

    Binnur,

Nicely captured, I wonder if the bit of land to the right could be cropped or cloned out? If you crop you'll lose some of the angle created by the clouds above though.

Really great colors and composition. I wouldn't think that straightening out the buildings would crop that much out of the pic. That is the only minor point I can see in this otherwise great shot.

Really effective with the reflections, and such lovely colours. I wouldn't change anything either.

Thank you John (Shadowman), Mike, Brian, David and John (Slipper) for looking and commenting. I'm glad that you like the image

John(Shadowman), I didn't want to crop or clone the little piece of land because IMO it adds to the composition with the ship on the horizon.

Brian, the piece of land on the RHS is so small that losing a part of it makes it look odd really. That's why I didn't touch the buildings. Fortunately the buildings are not the main subject in the photo, so I thought I could sacrifise them.

    Binnur,

    Just a suggestion, well done.

    Looks fine to me.

Just a little suggestion about when you want to crop tighter but not lose something.

What I have done previously is to select the required area, with a little bit of feathering, copy and paste back onto the scene. After the crop, reposition the pasted area.

Without being the least bit unnatural, overly saturated or the like. That along with the composition and tranquility is what I like about it.

Great colour with this one Binnur and I would not worry about the extremely minor tilt on the buildings to the left, it's hardly even noticeable.

Your treatment of the sky is just starting to show some banding and artifacts, a problem I also get with these blues.

Thank you Grahame, I'm glad that you liked it

I have checked the raw,psd and jpg files of the image again. I think the ones you saw may not be banding but the clouds themselves, they look like bands indeed. I did noise reduction besides sharpening to create a softer look in the sky and water after resizing the image, I think this would help to eliminate the artifacts if there were any. But it is also possible that ,your monitor might be better than mine and I may not be seeing the ones you mentioned. Thanks for the comment

I’m always a sucker for this kind of shot Binnur!

The color, the lights, the right time of day. You even nailed some starbursts!

    Beautiful shot.

By the way, if you are in Photoshop there is a way to correct the buildings on the LHS without really affecting the RHS spit of land. But I don’t think I would even bother if it were me.
