Perthshire, Scotland and first attempts with ND filter

    #1. Ben Lawers dam,

I had the pleasure of a two day break to this lovely place and had great fun experimenting with ND filter for first time. All C&C gratefully received.

We have been going to the same hotel in Kenmore for the past 12 years, we love this area, having just taken up photography I'm ''rediscovering'' all the places I've seen so many times.

Gerry, your post is giving a lot of pleasure! … all your takes are wonderful
but I bit my tongue on #2!

1, 3, and 4, well justified the use of ND filter and the takes were executed
with brio but #2 didn't. Worse still, using it kept a great take away from
    your grasp.

I could not resist to try to get some features back… hoping it is still close to
    reality.

For me also 1,3 and 4. #2 just doesn't seem to go with the other 3. Nicely captured all.

Another take on that particular lump of concrete from 3 years ago is here.

The first one in the series above is, I think, a very dramatic shot that conveys a sense of the signifcance of the structure in its landscape, both in physical terms but also for what it means in financial and social terms (see my comments in the linked thread above). Good one.

Donald thanks for your comment, just looked at your link, very atmospheric, I think I may have to try a b&w conversion. As you know the weather is master in this area, a few minutes after these shots the sun was blazing, not good for walking or shooting.

Thanks Paul, I now think #2 was for more of a narative of both sides of the dam.

Kodiak thanks for your comments and edit. I think I used #2 to give more of an idea of the dam. I hope you haven't done any lasting damage to your tongue

My tongue is doing ok, I'm more concerned about the "close to reality" rendition
of my edit since I did not see the scene.

The rendition is very good and life like. I would be happy with that one in my collection.

Thanks Gerry, as far as I know, this is still YOUR picture!

The interest for me is that you confirmed the "close to reality" character of the
rendition and that you like it!

A b&w conversion of one of my other shots. Thanks to Donald for the inspiration.

Another nice one I would clone the white thing ( I don't know what it is) at the bottom left part (towards the middle) of the image.
