    Noise reduction software

What's the best noise reduction program to use? I've tried Zero Noise but unfortunately it hangs halfway through the process, I just downloaded a 15 day trial of Noiseware Pro and that eliminates noise rather well but I find it also diminishes the detail on my pictures. I wouldn't mind using zero noise after seeing the results posted on another thread, if there's better then let me know.

    Have a guess :)

    Hi Rod,

Why don't you send a PM to _GUI_ - he wrote Zero Noise, and so can hopefully sort out the hanging issue for you.

Personally, I just try to expose my images correctly in the first place (using GND filters if necessary) for me, noise just doesn't seem to ba an issue.

Neat Image works fine for me.

In particular, please read post 8 in the above thread, as it explains how Neat Image works.

    Cheers,

I have been using Topaz Denoise and I am quite happy with it.

"What's the best noise reduction program to use?" - What sort of noise is it, and how do you process your images?

Sometimes it's easy to do this without 3rd party software, although I do use Neat Image on occasion.

    Cheers

    Re: Noise reduction

I use Topaz DeNoise 3 but they have others. I can't be bothered with all the messing around involved with the others. Noise reduction is the first thing I do after converting from RAW and usually minimise noise reduction to virtually nil but concentrate on chroma noise.
If I have a lot to do I work on the worst image and then apply the same settings to all of them.
