Stacked Shieldbug

First time I tried stacking a life critter. Not the most handsomme subject I know....
Is this an acceptable stack ?

Exif: 7D; 100macro 1:1; f11; iso250; 1/250; handheld
full frame, no cropping, 5 frames stacked

No. …well it is, for a first one. I can tell you're heading the right way but
this is not enough. I will tell you about the second point at the next quote
but for now this:

The way to improve your technique goes through a precise selection of
both the closest PoF and the furthest PoF. And one additional PoF before
and after these… just to complete the stack.

5 frames stacked

This is where, IMO, the sock hurts the most here. I would suggest smaller
increments and, of course, more of them… like 10 +/-!

No good, Rudi. That angle doesn't show the one spot which is required for identification!

I think that isn't a shieldbug, but a Dock Bug (Coreus marginatus) but I need to see the area between the antennae.

That is life, an excellent image but wrong angle.

Looking from above, are there two small 'horns' on the head between the antennae?

You have certainly done well to get this handheld.

Thanks for comment Kodiak. This is off course true, and I would have liked 10+ frames, more or less aligned, but my model
was not that cooperative.....

Thanks for comments Geoff. Yes it is the wrong angle, but I have plenty more pictures.. It has two little 'horns' so it is a Dock Leaf Bug (Coreus marginatus), but I thought they were classified in the bigger family of the shieldbugs... wrong again..

Rudi, that is a truly ugly bug! I think congratulations for a handheld stack of a live bug possibly on the move, or about to move. What stacking software did you use?

Thanks Grahame. The bug seemed very still during 'the shoot' but when I checked the frames there was more movement than I initially thought there would be.... But I am happy how it turned out, keeping in mind that it was an outdoor shot, without any bugmanipulation...

I shot a number of frames of a moth using a tripod a while ago with the intention of stacking and it appeared perfectly still with my eyesight. On looking at the frames on the computer he had been clearly nodding his head up and down for part of the session, quite amusing.
