Autumn Bees Will Not Sit Still

I hope you can all indulge me while I catch up with a couple of posts. I have a patch of raspberry bushes that I bought several years ago. I made a mistake and bought a variety that bears fruit in November and not in August. It is IMPOSSIBLE to harvest raspberries in November where I live and I have often wondered why the local greenhouse even sold them to me?? Anyway, they have hundreds of unripe berries and the bees and wasps gather in huge swarms to get their last licks in before winter. They will not, however, sit still and are constantly buzzing from blossom to blossom. This was the best I could do. The second little fellow took a break on a sunflower and gave off a nice golden glow.

Well captured Suzan, I know where you are coming from they can be a nightmare to shoot, best time is in the morning just before they warm up!

Nicely captured. Not sure about the raspberries, I know certain peppers can be started indoors and transferred later when a long growing season is required. Perhaps it's a cross your fingers type thing if growing raspberries in colder climates, hope for a longer spell of warm weather.

Yes, bees particularly bumble bee species usually move faster than I can focus. Autofocus is another option but I tend to get so many false focus points with that method; even when just using the centre focus point.

Very nice shots Susan...I tried bees only once or twice and gave up on them...I think we still have some fleeting about my basil leaves but I am lazy when I go outside the deck to take pictures because it wasn't in the plan for the day...I love #2 best. It shows the lovely colour of the flower as against the bee. I like #1 too -- the background is just right.
