    field of Watsonia's

I hope I am not incorrect in my title and that in fact these flowers are Watsonia's. This field in Gordons Bay is stunning at the moment ,its as if the flowers have all been planted by hand so close to each other are they.Taken yesterday about an hour after sunrise,it was a struggle to walk through them to try different viewpoints.

I like #1 and #2 better than #3, Neil -- #2 for showing the whole scenario of flowers with the inclusion of them in the shot instead of just the background. Working the flowers as the foreground really works here for me.

    Neil,

To be honest, I like #3 better. More “artistic” with better DOF and sharper. It shows more of the main subject in detail and the environment it grows in.

There is an issue with WB here.

I like the first shot - that sea of colour is attractive - although there seems to be an issue with the focus. A couple of flowers towards the left of frame are closest to being in focus but no others. Was the camera set on matrix focusing?

I agree with Andre about the 3rd photo, that is a good solid composition.

PS Did Andre really use the word 'artistic' to describe a photo?

The last one especially was beautifully done. All quite worth the possible stepping on a few. I get to see this beautiful scene going on in another part of the world!

Thank you for all your replies,my favourite of the three is the third one,it was harder to get the exposure right,I had to struggle to get to that point and with all the flowers being covered in dew ended up being soaked.Greg I think the focus issue maybe because it was set at f/2.8.
