Prayer Flags at the Chelela Pass

The Bhutanese place prayer flags on mountain passes to maximize the likelihood that the prayers will reach the maximum number of sentient beings. These are found at the Chelela Pass (3988m), which we drove over on our way to the Haa Valley.

Interesting how cultures have different belief in the power of prayers -- from the aborigines to the modern Christians...and how one displays that here. Some cultures uses little pieces of papers, ie, in Jerusalem walls...

Hello Manfred: Thanks for sharing the images and interesting narrative of your holiday. These is quite an unusual shot. It reminds me of a forest.
