    Looking back..

While on the topic of leopard, another one, just because, well, I like them.

I am aware that the tail and legs and feet were cut, but to me, this image is more about the expression in the face/eyes.

    Crits and comments welcome!

    Looking back..

Edit is OK… always want to learn!

    Re: Looking back..

I have no concern whatsoever with the tail, legs and feet since this is
a "natural" environment. Anyway, like you said, it's all in the eyes!

The legs are less of an issue than the tail, and with that stare...
    Nicely done.

The are generally very shy animals so when irritated, this is the warning stare - you grab the shot and get out of there!

I have contemplated adjusting that tail, but decided to just leave it.

I think the shot would be just as effective if the tail were cropped.

I think that waving the tail is a further indication of the irritation, but I can be corrected on this. I'll try and see what I get?

Beautiful animal. No law says one has to take full body shots. No problem IMO chopping the tail/feet. If the eyes/face are the intended center of attention, then a bit more space on the right side of the frame would be helpful.

    Leopard are beautiful animals, Dan.

Yip, the space would have been great - but alas, that's the shot!

(I have a personal ache with chopping a limb or a tail deliberately. It is just me being squeemish, I think, and I know it is rather silly!)

    Karin,

I have the same qualm about clipping limbs etc. I usually don't notice until I'm in the process of editing. Lately, I've been noticing it more as I'm composing the shot and end up taking more shots to correct the clip. Doesn't always work when using a standard lens.

John, and to still chop it in edit? I always think that the poor animal can still operate with a halved tail, but NO tail? uhuh! Really daft, I know, but, well, that's me!

What you are doing in your explanation is trying to make apologies for what does not matter.

Accept the image for what it is.

    B^%*%*^%*&^&* great
