Great shot Phil, strong story and cool rendition!
In this case, you could have left less headroom in favour of a lower frame!

Nicely captured, like a frame from a movie, a still shot with movement.

    Phil,

This is the best street shot I have ever seen.

    Pity you cut the legs.

Phil...good strong shot... Your first phrase could have referred to the blurred guy and the keep your tongue in to the this man on the right. The look of the woman on the left is priceless...Love it.

    Phil,

The angle of this shot suggests you were either kneeling or shooting from the hip, care to describe your shooting stance?

That's awesome. I'm not fond of the black shadow along the left edge of the frame.

Super shot of a woman who knows that she is beautiful and a guy who certainly thinks she is. The shot is just great as it is. But, I wonder if a closer crop (eliminating the black at image left, some of the top and also some of the traffic including the bus at image right), plus a bit more structure or contrast might not place more emphasis on the woman and her admirer...

Nice timing and nicely caught. That's the essence of street photography. Good work.

    Thanks Kodiak

It was one of my first shots of the day, and first shooting without looking through the viewfinder and having the camera against my chest, so unfortunately I didn't quite get the ideal composition.

You haven't seen many then, Andre!

Shooting from the hip with a lens I wasn't quite comfortable with resulted in that I'm afraid.

The camera was against my chest - and I took a few frames on continual high while panning upwards - so this was the best combo of expression and composition really. I wanted to have some subject isolation so pre focused on the woman and waited for a scene to unfold. She was a temp working in an office behind me and early for her shift so was waiting there for around 5 minutes.

So it was 50mm, f2, 1/320th (min shutter speed on Auto ISO) and ISO 560

Thanks Dan - I've got to work on a final version as I quite like the image - I'll probably crop a little more off the left and maybe move to a 3:2 ratio

    Nice technique.
