It's an evolution thing...some of then aren't far removed from their dinosaur genetics.
Aside from that, they are nice shots.

Hello John, thank you for commenting. The images you mention were both shot on overcast days in the early morning, to get the exposure of the birds right the backgrounds became bright to white.

Nice set, Joe. You've got that new lens singing for you. Nicely done. But indeed making the stork and buzzard look good is beyond any mortal skill

Beautiful pix as always, Joe! Makes me excited to visit your area the end of November. Hopefully the northern birds will be down there by then.

Excellent bird photos. You must devote a lot of time to it. That shrike is really dapper!

    Great stuff Joe…
but do you really want me to believe that the Whistling duck is landing and
eventually perching on branches like the take is suggesting? ;-)

Joe, superb as always, the new glass seems to be doing it's job, although you did alright with the old glass too!

    Cheers David

Hello Joe: I always look forward to viewing your feathered friends. Number 3 made me laugh at loud. Love those duck feet! As soon as I read the description, I thought that the 400mm lens must be new. It seems to be working quite well.

Hi Dan, thanks for viewing and commenting. Regarding the stork and vulture, I used to think some birds were better than others. That has changed, now I try to show what is placed in front of me the best that I can. I think every creature is unique and has a purpose.

Thanks Nick, you might say the marshes and shores are my office. I have found a love for bird photography, being retired I have much time to devote to it.

Hey Izzie, thanks for viewing and commenting. Regarding the 80-400mm, the one I bought is refurbished by Nikon. That saves several hundred dollars. Cedar Key is special, feels like old Florida... Lake Morton has the swans in Lakeland.

Hello Kodiak, thank you for viewing and commenting. Regarding the Whistling Duck landing... nope, but the greenery made a better composition than a thick old dead limb.
