Michelle Andrews Holmes passed away.

I think my sister Michelle Andrews Holmes would like you to know that she passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday 8th October. Her battle with cancer is finally over and I'm sure she is now exploring a new world of glorious beauty and vibrant colour....(I hope she took her camera along!) Thank you for making the above post. My deepest sympathies to you and all members of Michelle's family. As I wrote in the thread to which I refer below, Michelle's strength in being able and willing to post her message was a lesson to us all in dealing with the greatest adversity. Now there's no more suffering.

Carol, thank you for letting us know that Michelle has passed away. My sympathies go to you, to John and Matthew, and to all Michelle's family and friends.

To fellow CiC members. I have been corresponding with Michelle since early in 2013, and this morning I know I have lost a friend, even if it was a friend I never met.

We talked a lot about things in general, and in spite of her illness she always showed an interest in what I and my family were doing. She did talk about her health, but always in a very matter of fact way - I never heard her complain about the unfairness of it all.

I last heard from Michelle towards the end of September, just a week or two before she passed away. She had just got her hands on a tablet, since she could no longer really sit at her computer, and was hoping she could get back on line.

However, it was obvious that her health was deteriorating quickly, and for the first time she was beginning to despair about how she would cope with a body that was fast giving up on her. So, although I am very sad she is no longer with us, I am relieved to know that she will suffer no more.
