    At the Barn

Please forgive that there are only 3 pictures to this series.

I was quite ill when I took these and unable to proceed further.

The barn is lovely and deserves exploration before it becomes a thing of the past.

    C&C welcome, as always.

ps - I am not sure how the images view when first seen, but they are the correct proportions when seen in the lightbox.

    Re: At the Barn

It is in Bel Air, Maryland - Harford County. My sister keeps her horses there.

It turns out that I was gravely ill and getting worse when I shot these. I spent this past week in the hospital with acute renal failure. My husband had to travel from our home in West Virginia to be by my side. I was released from the hospital on Friday afternoon (yesterday) and he brought me back home. I am glad to be alive.

Hi Marie, sorry to hear of your health problem but lets now hope for a speedy recovery back to normal.

The buildings are an interesting construction, solid and colourful

Shane, thank you. At this point, they are almost sure I will not need dialysis and that my renal health can be managed by diet and medicines.

Grahame, I believe the yellow may be an algae or lichen of some kind? Interestingly, it did not grow in the sheltered areas of stone. The barn door is a decidedly beautiful slate blue. The tin roof and trim around the barn windows is green.

    Kim, These are for you.

    Re: At the Barn

Now that was why you were on AWOL!! -- Surely glad to know you are OK now...

Anyway, the barn and its occupants are nicely shot, Marie. The first thing that came to mind was "This is a barn???!!!?" Very different from what I was thinking really...The inclusion of the cat at the near end add another dimension to the shot too...

And #2 shot the first thing that I noticed that your number 2 was positioned exactly at the very top of the structure. Since I am viewing this forum on my laptop, I thought you took a photo of something hanging...silly thought!

Just asking...is there any particular reason why you singled out that particular horse to grace your shot? Is that your sister in the next shot of that particular horse?

    Welcome back...(and I mean this...!!!!)

    All beautiful shots...beautiful horses...I can't pick a favourite...

Holy cow, Rie, renal failure?!! I' glad you are still with us.

I love the shot of the silo covered in lichen (or whatever). I think the last one could probably use a bit less of the tree.

I share that thought Marie. Not only serious but it must have given you one hell of a fright. I would prescribe plenty of R&R with a camera. Make use of the positives.

    Re: At the Barn

Dear David, when I get back to Maryland, I will do just that.

Dear Izzie, the choice of horses was totally accidental. It was just that in the PP process, these were the best.

Greg, thank you for that suggestion. i will give it a try.

    John, thank you.

John2, one hell of a fright is an understatement. Right now, I am on restricted activity, but when I can pick up a camera.....

Hi, Binnur. I still have a long recovery process, but certainly am in better condition. Thank you!
