Mother and her babies!

I found this mother Wolf Spider the other day carrying dozens of babies on her back Although I have seen this before, the difference with this one was, she was missing her two front left hand side legs This never seemed to hold her back as these two images were the only IMO half decent frames from over twenty, as she would not stay still C&C Welcome as usual

I grow fatigued in trying to chase things in the wild that seem to insist in movement...I would
capture it in a bottle>set-up your scene using a background that would accentuate the
spider>when it is finished chilling out in the fridge, introduce it into your scene. Best to hurry,
because when it warms up, it will scurry away.

Hi Chauncey, I hear what your saying and it is another way of doing this kind of photography, but the last time I tried to lift one like this, all the babies jumped off, and I nearly s**t myself reason being I thought it was just a big fat spider, until the children bailed out

I drop of honey for bait might lure it into the jar with the brats all intact on mom.

Knowing my luck I would get surrounded by wasps and end up being stung while the spider eats the honey and does a runner!
