I am buying the new 40-150mm 2.8. There is a special on with the mc-14 included at a reasonal price. I have seen the results using the 1.4 converter, they were good. Why should I consider the ec-14 at twice the price when I am only using 12-40mm 2.8, 50mm macro and a 17mm. These lenses will last me a lifetime. Weeel maybeee.

The EC-14 is for 4/3 and the MC-14 is for micro 4/3 so the choice depends on what mount plus dedicated lenses you use.
On m 4/3 the EC-14 can be used with a 4/3 lens and a 4/3 to m 4/3 adapter. Been their and done that. The 2x can be used this way too. Some 4/3 lenses are still popular on M 4/3 with the adapter.
